Our Mission

As set by the club's founders, it shall be the permanent mission of the Undergrad Geoclub to:

Encourage careers in the geosciences among the general public, prospective majors, and declared majors by spurring interest in the acquisition of a working knowledge of geoscience.

Aid undergrad students in pursuit of a Geology and Geophysics degree and/or Geological Engineering degree by acting as a resource capable of supplementing said students' education through provision of approved materials accrued from undergraduate courses in Geology and Geophysics, and Geological Engineering.

Expose undergrads to a variety of off-campus geo-related experiences not otherwise found on typical geology field trips. These experiences are to include, but not be limited to, trips to various museums in outlying cities, attending talks by guest speakers beyond UW-Madison, and visiting selected natural regions of geologic interest to lend greater understanding of what those working in the geo-sciences have offered and can continue to offer.
