Structural Geology and Tectonics Forum

Madison, WI
May 20-22, 2010
Application Deadline: Extended to April 1st
Decision Date: April 5, 2010

Overview

The Structural Geology and Tectonics Forum is a new meeting that hopes to combine the best of “Tectonic Studies Group” meetings (UK, Australia) and “Deformation, Rheology, and Tectonics” (European) meetings. It is an informal specialist meeting focusing on research, with the goal of providing an environment for discussion of ongoing research and testing new ideas. It is aimed at professional geologists, although advanced graduate students are encouraged to attend.

Meeting Organization

Please click on the link for the current schedule.  If you submitted an abstract and it is not listed or if you discover another issue with the schedule then please email Richard Becker at rabecker2@wisc.edu.  Additional posters are encouraged, so if you are not already presenting and have a poster from a previous conference, feel free to bring it to the forum.  If possible, email Richard its title and abstract.  For posters created specifically for this conference we are recommending a size of about 3 feet vertical by 6 feet horizontal, but we will do our best to accommodate all poster sizes.  Nutritious lunches and snacks will be provided by the forum to keep participants onsite and happy – if you have food allergies or other dietary restrictions you may wish to email Richard as well.

Meeting Location

The Forum along with its associated pre- and post-meeting short courses will be held in UW-Madison’s Weeks Hall for the Geological Sciences.  It is located at 1215 West Dayton Street, Madison, WI 53706.  Directions to Weeks Hall may be found here.
