CPS Clicker
Registration
Once you have purchased your textbook and your clicker, you must
register the clicker with the course. As
we will use the clicker in the first lecture, please complete the registration
before the first class as you will not be able to use the clicker until it is
registered.
Registration is easy and
will take a few minutes online, here are the steps:
1. Go to http://www.einstruction.com
2. Click on “students” in the top right corner (see
below)
3. Select “UW Madison” in the drop-down menu and click
“choose course” (see below)
4. Enter the class key which is: I5084G644
5. Enter the serial number which is written in gold
lettering on the back of your CPS Clicker
6. A) If you
purchased a new text book:
Enter
your enrollment code which is printed on the back of the yellow card which was
shrink-wrapped with your text book and click “Join the class”
B) If you
purchased a used text book you will need to purchase access online using a
credit card (cost $15). Click on
“Purchase access” and follow the instructions.
7. Enter a username, password and your email address.
8. Enter your first and last name and the first 10 digits of your student ID
number (i.e. drop the last digit which is you card number)
9. Click “Finish”
When you see the screen
below you have successfully enrolled your CPS Clicker with the class. Note your username, password and the pad ID
number.
Important: you will need to know your pad ID number
in class
We recommend you write your
name and pad ID number on your clicker.
You will also receive an
email with this information which you should save.
Please complete this
registration before the first lecture as we will use the clickers in the first
lecture.
If you made a mistake when
entering your information you can correct it by logging back in: go to http://www.einstruction.com,
click on “students,” select “UW Madison,” and enter your username and password
on the right hand side of the screen.
You can now select the “student admin” option from the list on the left
hand side and update your account.
