UW Geology & Geophysics Scintag XRD Status
John Fournelle (johnf@geology.wisc.edu, 262-7964, Room 306 Weeks) will be
taking over responsibility from Sue Welch for the XRD Lab starting May 8.
Please contact him if you have comments about hardware or software issues,
as there is a good chance that we will have a Scintag engineer stop by the
lab later this month.
We are now using a revised scheduled calender (Thanks to Ken Eliceir) which as a
new feature: a status message on calender itself. Always look there for up-to-the-minute
changes in status.

The Scintag diffractometer is not working well (noted Mar 18). The xray tube is
degrading and we are detecting stray xray lines. Check
this page often for updated information. We
have been having intermittant problems with it over the last few months
(weeks, years, etc).
Please feel free to reserve
time on the instrument when it's operational.
