The IMS-1280 arrived at the WiscSIMS laboratory on March 1, 2005. The instrument, carefully packed in 10 large crates, was unloaded by fork lift and moved into the lab. The next day, the secondary ESA and the four-ton magnet were placed in their final locations. The instrument was assembled carefully by the CAMECA engineers.
