Research
Originally from California, I received my bachelor's degree in geology from Carleton College. Fascinated by volcanoes, I came to UW-Madison in 2006 to pursue my masters with Brad Singer in igneous geochemistry. I am currently studying the Guatemalan volcano Santa Maria which, in 1902, produced the second-largest eruption of the 20th century. Using petrologic and geochemical methods such as trace-element zoning, two-oxide thermobarometry, and melt inclusion analysis, I am studying the magma chamber processes that led to the catastrophic eruption.
