Dave taught geomorphology, glacial geology, and several other classes before retiring in 2005. As an Emeritus professor , he now concentrates on research and writing a book an the Geology of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Through his firm, Geo-professional Consultants, LLC, Dave offers expertise in the properties and distribution of glacial deposits in addition to many earth surface processes and sediments. In addition, he continues a long career of research on shoreline erosion problems and solutions. He continues to participate in the life of the UW Quaternary program by attending seminar, lectures, and informally advising students.
