May 30 - June 1
Department of Geology and Geophysics
University of Wisconsin-Madison
The biennial PACROFI Conference has become the foremost Pan-American forum for the presentation of research in the field of fluid inclusions. PACROFI VI will be hosted by the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from Thursday May 30 through Saturday June 1, 1996. The meeting will be held in the Department of Geology. The dates have been chosen to follow the Spring AGU Meeting (May 20-24) and the GAC-MAC Meeting in Winnipeg (May 27-29).
To keep costs down for participants, and to encourage attendance by students, we will hold the meeting in the Geology department. Hotel accommodations are available close to the Department at prices from $63 (single) to $38 per person, double occupancy. In addition, inexpensive accommodations can be arranged at request in one of the campus dormitories. Madison can be easily reached by all major airlines either directly or by connections from Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Minneapolis. Madison is located 2.5 hours northwest of Chicago and 1.5 hours west of Milwaukee and regular bus service is available from the airports.
Industry support for the meeting is being sought in order to bring in international speakers and lower the costs for students. Please let us know if you know of any potential sponsors.
