EUROPEAN CURRENT RESEARCH ON FLUID INCLUSIONS
July 1-4, 1997
The ECROFI meetings are traditionally the occasion to gather together the scientific community working on geological fluids as fluid inclusions. The XIV th meeting will in addition favour exchanges with other fields of geological sciences, especially those dealing with water-rock interaction in the crust, and mass transfer related to the prospecting of energy and raw materials, especially sedimentary basins and oil concentrations, geothermal energy, and environment.
The symposium will be divided into six main scientific sessions :
- I - Advances in analytical techniques and general principles (phase equilibrium, interpretation)
- II - Sedimentary and diagenetic processes
- III - Water rock interactions in the crust , geothermal fields, and hydrothermal ore deposits
- IV -High temperature processes (Magmatic fluids, metamorphic P-T paths , ...)
- V - Fluid migration and deformation
- VI - Environment, paleoclimate
It is also the intention of this meeting to actively bring the participation of industry in order to apprise the relevant industries of recent progresses in basic research, and to acquaint scientist and engineers with the current research needs of industry, especially in Europe.
A two-pages abstract is requested from authors for oral or poster presentation and should be received by February 1, 1997. The abstract will be published in a special volume and will be provided to all registrants of the symposium. More details will be given in the second circular.
The Scientific committee will select papers for oral and poster presentation from the abstract submitted. Authors will be notified of acceptance by the end of March 1997. Oral presentation will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes of discussion.
Oral and poster contributions will be published in the European Journal of Mineralogy. As usual, manuscripts should follow the rules of the journal which reserves the final decision of acceptance.
The XIV ECROFI will be held in Nancy, on 1-4 July, 1997
Nancy offers a variety of hotels; the accommodation will be arranged also in student residence. Full details will be provided in the next circular.
