Pinnacle Node 7
This is the furthest NE panorama in your tour of the Pinnacles Desert. The dominant wind direction is from the SW and in this corner of the park, new pinnacles are being exhumed. The pinnacles surrounding the camera here stand 1.5-2 meters high on average as they have yet to be fully exposed by the relentless wind. As we have seen throughout this desert area, the top30-50 cm are generally more tightly cemented and have a dark gray color.
Just to the southwest of the camera position is a pinnacle shaped like a sewing needle - what combination of circumstances could lead to this formation?
