Experience Wisconsin geology in your own outdoor classroom!
The UW Madison Geology Museum is offering walking tours of Devil's Lake State Park. You will learn about the geology of Devil's Lake while hiking through the park's spectacular scenery. These field trips appeal to students from age 8 and up. Adult and family tours can also be arranged.
Students have a hands-on experience to see how our landscape has changed through Wisconsin's geologic history. The tours satisfy Wisconsin's educational standards and are ideal for students exploring earth science curriculum. Devils Lake is a natural outdoor laboratory for learning about our planet's fascinating history.

UW Geology Museum

The geology tours hike along the East Bluff trail of Devil's Lake State Park and are generally 2.5 to 3 hours in length. Along the way you will learn about Wisconsin's geologic and glacial history, as well as the unique ecology of this park. The hike ends at the south shore picnic area.

Accomodations can be made for groups with special needs.
