Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center
www.mononaterrace.com

The story of Monona Terrace began in 1938 when renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, then at the height of his international fame, first proposed his plans for a “dream civic center” in downtown Madison. His “long-awaited dream of a wedding between the city and beautiful Lake Monona” has finally been realized in Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.

Monona Terrace bears Wright’s signature style with dramatic open spaces, breathtaking views of Lake Monona, and curvilinear forms in interior and exterior details. Guided tours provide greater access to spaces in this working convention center. Other visitor attractions include the Monona Terrace Gift Shop, with a wide selection of Wright inspired merchandise, and “The Wright Picture” Exhibit, featuring the work of the architect’s personal photographer Pedro Guerrero. Monona Terrace also offers a variety of free community programs that changes seasonally.
