About the Course

This course will provide an outline of mineralogy and petrology (igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic) for undergraduate students. This is a 5 credit course that has three lectures and one three hour lab per week. The theoretical aspects will be discussed during the lectures, while the labs will focus on the practical aspects including handspecimen and microscopic studies of mineral and rock specimens. There is a required field trip the weekend of April 21-22 to north-central Wisconsin.
