one-credit introductory course (Geology 112) offered by the UW-Madison
Dept of Geology and Geophysics. This course describes the connections
between the earth's tectonic plates, earthquakes, and its many mountain
ranges. It covers basic geography, the structure of the earth's interior,
the relationships between the seismic cycle, volcanism, and plate movements,
erosion of mountains, and mass wasting.
Exam 1 = 40 points; Exam 2 = 50 points.
Your course grade is based on a total of 90 points for the exams and the
overall class curve.
