Cavosie Genealogy

Branch V: Romedio Clemente Cavosi (Clemente R. Cavosie in America) (1875-1928)

Clemente settled in Cohoes, New York and married a woman named Louise (surname unknown) from Michigan. They had two children. As for historical documents, I have a copy of Clemente's birth record (from Italy) and the 1920 US census data (Albany cty., NY) for his family. The only other mention of him I have is on the 1910 US census for Pennsylvania, where he is listed as staying with his brother William (Vigilio) at the time. It is neat to be able to track them as they made their way into new lives.

1920 US census data collected on Jan. 6th in Cohoes (Albany Cty), NY. It seems that Romedio Clemente Cavosi now went by the name Clement R. Cavosie. His wife's name was Louise M., and she was about 8 years younger than him (column 11). They had two children in 1920, Virginia (?) F., and Raymond N. Their address (columns 1, 2) is no. 21 McEwan(?) Ave, Cohoes. And his year of immigration (column 13) is listed as 1901.

Children of Clemente and Louise Cavosie:

(1) Their first child was Virginia (or Vivian, or Veronica; hard to read on the 1920 census form) Cavosie (1916-19??).

(2) Their second (and last?) was Raymond N. Cavosie (1918- 2000). Raymond went on to have a large family (see link below) that still live in the Albany area of New York today.

Cavosie in New York today. See living relatives of Raymond and Kay Cavosie.
