These will be awarded based on a combination of outstanding academic credentials and industry-oriented career plans. Applicants should include a statement describing their future career plans, and in particular information concerning any coursework, employment, or other activities that help to demonstrate their sincere interest in industry employment. In addition to a stipend for the academic year (9 months), the RA carries a summer stipend, which is not normally covered, for example, in Teaching Assistantship appointments. |

Joint BP-UW Minority Research Assistantship BP and the Department of Geoscience are pleased to offer a Research Assistantship. The RA is intended for an incoming student who comes from a cultural or ethnic group that is under-represented in earth science, and intends to pursue graduate studies in any field of geology, geophysics, or geological engineering.
