Research

My research involves using geodetic observations and finite element modeling to characterize subduction processes in Jalisco and Colima, Mexico. I recently submitted a manuscript to GJI about the GPS-derived slip distribution for the 22 January 2003 earthquake in that region.

I am currently working in the laboratory at PFS Corporation, which is an independent testing lab that certifies standards compliance of construction materials. I will resume graduate study in Fall 2006.

  • 2005 AGU poster presentation-A Geodetic Study of the 22 January 2003 Tecoman, Colima, Mexico Earthquake (Session G21B: Plate Boundary Observatory and Crustal Deformation Posters) [PDF]

Education

BA, Physics, Lawrence University, 2001
MS, Geophysics, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2005
Teaching

I have been the TA for the following courses:

  • Geology 333-The Age of Dinosaurs
  • Geology 594-Introduction to Applied Geophysics
  • Geology 595-Field Methods in Applied Geophysics
Departmental Responsibilities

Now that I am no longer a graduate student, I have none.

For two years, I was the student career coordinator. My role was to coordinate the recruitment visits of petroleum companies.
