UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ---- Postdoctoral fellowship
in fluid-rock interaction/ stable isotope geochemistry. Conduct research
on the nature of fluid-rock interaction in processes of crustal
evolution, including aspects of the role of fluids in the thermal and
mechanical evolution of metamorphic core complexes. Expected to
pursue field-based petrologic and stable isotopic studies of fluid-hosted
fault zone processes, and be actively involved in the stable isotope lab.
A PhD in the general area of geochemistry is required and experience in
stable isotope analytical techniques is desirable. Send a CV and names

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ---- The Department of Geological
Sciences ---- postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Experimental
Geochemistry/Petrology/Volcanology. A PhD and experience with
experimental apparatus are required. The position is initially for one
year, and renewable for two years subject to performance evaluation and
availability of funds. The successful applicant will help maintain
experimental apparatus and use a Walker-type multi-anvil apparatus and
piston-cylinders to study volatile-mineral interaction, diffusion, and

IRIS Consortium ---- Transportable Array Manager ---- The
Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) seeks a manager
to oversee the operations of the Transportable Array portion of the US
Array program of Earth Scope ----
www.EarthScope.org.
Oversee the work of the Transportable Array contractor and the site
planning and permitting groups, coordinate the operations and data flow
of the transportable array with other programs and with existing regional
seismic networks. Should have experience in managing large
programs, the ability to work effectively with diverse groups, and
experience in real-time data acquisition/telemetry and geophysical field
operations. Minimum background should include a MS in science or
engineering along with 10 years of relevant work experience.
Significant travel will be required. Office location for this position
will be Socorro, NM. IRIS

university consortium with 100 members funded by the NSF to support
facilities for research in the seismology and the Earth Sciences.
Filling this position depends on the availability of funds, but the start
date is expected to be on or after October 1, 2003. Candidates
