The OOPPS award went to Basil Tikoff for his
ill-preparedness for international travel which left him without visa and
unable to travel to Brazil to present at a conference. Also
nominated was Phil Brown, whose attempts to DOMINATE a rock to bring back
to Weeks Hall ultimately proved fruitless.
The STOOPPS award went to co-recipients this year, as Buddy
Tangalos and Mark Stevens. Buddy let his exploratory impulses get
the better of him during the Spring Break field trip to the Appalachians,
ultimately resulting in his being coated almost to the knees in bottom
sediment of a 0.5 pH quarry lake. Mark awoke the day after the Fall
Picnic to find that he couldn't recall the fate of the GeoClub money he
had collected the night before during a brat-induced stupor that was
exacerbated by his blood donation earlier in the day.
The next year's Geoclub administration is as follows:
President: Emily Freeman
VP: Kallina Dunkle
Secretary: Seann McClure
Treasurer: Sarah Greene
Soda Czar: Ian Orland
Elucidator: Jennie Cook
Field trip coordinator: Buddy Tangalos
Website Guru: Matt Knuth
Monitors: Stef Bernosky, Peter Garaffo, Jennifer Walker
