University of California at Santa Barbara ----- The Department of
Earth Science seeks a broadly educated geoscientist who conducts creative
research on the structural/petrological evolution of the continents. A
field orientation combined with expertise in analytical tools, such as
geochronology or isotope geochemistry, or computational skills, such as
numerical modeling or GIS analysis, is required. This tenure-track
appointment will be as an Assistant Professor to begin July 1,
2008. A Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment. Review of
applications will begin October 15, 2007. Applicants should submit a PDF

1). Environmental Analyst ------- currently seeking
candidates for an entry-level Environmental Analyst position for the
Princeton, NJ office to work as part of a collegial team on diverse
environmental and ground water related projects. The position
requires a BS degree in geology, environmental science or engineering or
related discipline, and 0 to 5 years of experience in environmental
consulting, or M.S. degree with thesis, a working knowledge of geology
and hydrogeology, and strong quantitative and spatial skills. Applicant
should possess experience with Microsoft Excel and Access (or similar)
software, experience with creating data plots, maps, graphics, and
geologic diagrams using standard software (e.g. Surfer, Illustrator, CAD,
etc.); Excellent writing and oral communication skills are a must.
2). Project Manager ---- seeking an environmental Project Manager
to join technical team in Princeton, NJ. The applicant must have earned a
B.S. or M.S. degree in geology, environmental science or engineering or
related discipline; must possess excellent communication skills; and have
5 to 10 years of consulting experience, a significant portion of which
was spent managing ground water related projects such as water supply
(e.g., well field siting studies, aquifer test design), wastewater
disposal, hydrogeologic site investigation and remediation, and coastal
zone ground water management. Duties include report preparation,
interacting with clients and regulators; estimating and managing budgets;
and leading and mentoring project staff. Position requires
experience with federal and state environmental regulations; and
experience with petroleum hydrocarbon sites is desirable.

and to develop its revised and expanded research program in the fields of
evolutionary adaptations, wildlife diseases and biological conservation
the institute seeks to appoint 1 technical assistant to work in the
stable isotope research facility and be involved in research in the
fields of feeding ecology and metabolic physiology of zoo animals and
wildlife. Duties - Analysis of sample material using a Thermo Delta
V Advantage isotope ration mass spectrometer, managment and use of
instruments and materials in the stable isotope lab. Required
qualifications: - Full professional education and several years of
experience with stable isotope mass spectrometers preferably Thermo
(formerly Finnigan) - Very good spoken and written English - High
motivation and the ability to adapt fast to new methods of stable isotope
research. The position is available beginning from the 1st of June
2007, initially for 2 years. Deadline for applications is the

University of South Florida ------ ICPMS/IRMS Instrument Technician
----- The Department of Geology seeks a technician for a new geochemical
analytical facility, which will include ICP-MS and IRMS
instrumentation. The successful candidate should have expertise in
both plasma- and gas-source mass spectrometry and will be responsible for
the maintenance of both instruments and support
equipment. Applicants should have a MS or PhD degree in
geosciences, analytical chemistry or closely related field, and a strong
background in analytical geochemistry. The position will be filled
at the Research Associate or Research Assistant level beginning Fall
2007. The position is initially funded for three years with the
