DISCUSSION

Discussion sections will provide an opportunity to review lecture and text material. They will also include exercises that reinforce and supplement lectures. Most exercises will include both a portion to be completed during the section as well as additional work to be completed on your own and turned in for grading. Attendance at the discussion section is required. Part of your discussion section grade will be based on attendance. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. If you miss a section due to illness or other reasons, it is your responsibility to contact the TA to discuss options for making up work that was missed. Other criteria for the discussion portion of your grade include timely completion of assignments, participation in discussions and group exercises and, possibly, quizzes.

Note: Stay with the discussion section in which you are registered. You cannot miss your section and simply show up at another one to satisfy attendance requirements. Only if you formally change your discussion section, or have the TA's approval for specific cases, should you attend a section other than the one in which you are registered.
