Mountains and Moving Plates

Geoscience 112 is a one-credit introductory course offered by the UW-Madison Department of Geoscience. The course describes the connections between Earth's tectonic plates, earthquakes, and its many mountain ranges. It covers basic geography, the structure of Earth's interior, and the connections between the seismic cycle, volcanism, and plate movements, erosion of mountains, and mass wasting.
