Natural Resources Canada is unlike any US Federal Government agency. NRCan centralizes responsibity for the management of all natural resources in Canada - minerals, forests, water resources, and so on. In this way it is similar to Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources.

Natural Resources Canada is organized in 5 sectors:

Minerals and Metals

Energy

Earth Sciences

Forest Service

Corporate Services

From a minerals or energy resources perspective, the following NRCan sites are the most relevant:

GEOSCAN Database GEOSCAN is a bibliographic database of predominantly Geological Survey of Canada publications containing over 40,000 records concerning the Canadian landmass and offshore regions.
