Logging Into Desire2Learn

"Learn@UW

Desire2Learn, referred to as "Learn@UW or D2L" is the new online course tools for internet classes here at the UW. You will have to learn how to navigate the course toolset - ignorance of this system is no excuse. To get to the D2L website, go to this address:

https://uwmad.courses.wisconsin.edu/

Step By step instructions:

STEP ONE:

Once you have gotten the Learn@UW webpage, log into the site - your "WISC.EDU" username and password get you in - depending on how integrated the "My UW" pages are, you may be able to get to the course list directly from the 'my wisc.edu' page.

STEP TWO:

Click on "Geology 333: The Age of Dinosaurs."

STEP THREE:

Notice the text links on the upper left. One is marked "Content" and another is marked "Quizzes." These are your primary choices - every week there will be three more lectures available for reading. These lectures are accessed through the "Content" page. Every other week, there will be a quiz or test and that will be available through the "Quizzes" tool. Remember, failure to understand and navigate this course is not an excuse for missed work. It is up to you to understand how to use Learn@UW - and your responsibility to find help if you are having trouble.

STEP FOUR:

There are three lectures made available every week - the quizzes will draw questions from the information linked on this page. There are also a few exercises and notes designed to help you with the course (especially with cladistics and anatomy).

Lectures will appear on this page when they are available (three new ones per week).
