Configuring Network Settings
Your computer's network settings will have to be properly configured in order to receive
an IP address. You should also turn AppleTalk on in order to communicate with the printers in Weeks Hall.
Follow these instructions to configure your computer.
Mac OS X - TCP/IP
Open the "Network" system preferences.
For "Show:" select "Built-in Ethernet".
Right below "Show:" are 5 selections. Select "TCP/IP".
Make sure "Configure IPv4:" is set to "Using DHCP".
The "DNS Servers:", "DHCP Client ID", and "Search Domains:" spaces should all be blank.
Exit the preference panel or go to the AppleTalk setup.
Mac OS X - AppleTalk
- Open the "Network" system preferences.
- For "Show:" select "Built-in Ethernet".
- Right below "Show:" are 5 selections. Select "AppleTalk".
- Select "Make AppleTalk Active".
- Click "Apply Now".
- Exit the preference panel.
