The Wisconsin Astrobiology Research Consortium (warc) involves a research and outreach team of 28 people from 17 institutions in 7 countries. These investigations are innovative in their scope, drawing together scientists from the fields of astrochemistry, geology, microbiology, chemistry, and engineering, where the over-arching goal is detection of life and its environments. Centered in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, major collaborating institutions include the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The University of Kentucky.
