Striations
To the tune of “That’s Amore”

Brad Vogel (with input from Craig Brumblay)
Glacial Geology trip 2005

When the cold glacier head
Scrapes a hard rocky bed
That’s striations, that’s striations
When the lines intersectIt’s an ice redirect
That’s striations, that’s striations

Clasts will flow, lines will grow, bring the snow
We could use more sheer stress
But now ice is spent and we see where it went
That’s striations

When you’re on an outcrop
Just look down when you stop
That’s striations, that’s striations
Find a place at the base
Bring a Brunton in case
That’s striations, that’s striations

Hard to find? In a bind?
Keep in mind?- Just look for Dave’s red hat.
For he’ll see them just fine, every scratch and fine line
Those striations.
