Recent Recearch Projects in the Uinta Mountains

Between 1997 and 2000, the main focus of my research was on glacial geology and soil geomorphology in the Uinta Mountains, Utah. The research group was comprised of a number of scientists from the Ashley Naional Forest (Darlene Koerner, Chris Savage, Nick Oprandy, and Mike Devito) and at the University of Wisconsin (Jim Bockheim, Dave Mickelson, Jeff Munroe, and Eric Carson). Some of the projects we worked on included:

• Soil inventory of the South Fork Ashley Creek drainage
• Glacial landforms of the South Fork Ashley Creek drainage
• Landtype mapping of the North Slope of the Uinta Mountains
• Physical and chemical evidence for eolian contributions to alpine soils
• Holocene climatic record infered from alpine lake cores
• Soil development on glacial moraines, West Fork Beaver Creek, Uinta Mountains, Utah
